Reflection of 2013. Resolution for 2014.

Hello Humans,

Happy New Year!

It’s the first day of 2014 and I'm spending it well alone at home, enjoying my me-time with my lappy, music and tv. Oh well, it’s a good time for me to do some reflection of the past year and set some resolutions for this year!  Checked out what I've set for 2013 and seeing it is quite…well... HAHA.

1) Graduate Smoothly [Goal Attained]

So yes, I’ve completed my final semester in NTU earlier this year, crapped through my horrible FYP and enjoyed the last phase of my student life. As expected, it was difficult to maintain cGPA of 3.8, let alone pulling my degree to Second Upper Class, I think I’m quite okay to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Second Lower Class. Wearing a mortarboard was like a lifelong goal for me since I was a young schooling kid and I couldn't imagine I've achieved it. Yes, 人生重大目标No. 1 has been fulfilled! Happy that I did my family proud, especially my parents who see us through university. It wasn't easy, though my parents are financially well to support all 5 children of theirs’, but let's not forget about all the hard work that they paid off for that.

2) Good Job upon Graduation (Decent Job with Decent Pay) [Goal Attained]
My only paper for my last semester in NTU was 8th May 2013 and my convocation was on 26th July 2013. Job hunting was irritating and I was so busy with nuahing and only started job searching in mid/late June. I wouldn't say I didn't care much about job searching cos that will be lying to everyone. I think it’s more like I’m stressed at times when there’s no news or when people around me started stressing me out with my job hunting progress. I’m okay with being jobless, since I don’t mind having a long break before work kicks in. But having to find job (on and off) for good for 5 months is too long and tiring. The job hunting process took longer than expected and I’m glad that it ended in early November when I got a job offer from HDB. It ended my 4.5 months of job hunting. On a side note, work gonna start tomorrow! Wish me luck.

Resolution 2014 #1: Smooth career in HDB, good colleagues and boss(es), a friendly work environment and me performing well as an employee. Somehow I hope I can survive through the first year and get re-contract or a permanent position after the first year. We'll see how it goes.

3) Get my Driving Licence [Try Harder]
Started learning driving in June 2013 despite learning the theories in February. Driving wasn't something easy for me cos I get freaked up all the times, especially when I’m allocated to this fierce and unfriendly instructor. But the good thing is that most of the instructors are pretty friendly to us (my sister and I) and sometimes we even chatted. I was quite confident for passing my driving test in just one try but unfortunately I got freaked out during the test again and thanks to my lousy driving skills, I gonna take the test this February! Wish me luck, I wanna get that driving license, stop wasting my money and stop seeing those driving instructors.

Resolution 2014 #2: Get that damn driving license

4)  Know the Basic of Ukulele [Try Harder]

I got my hands off ukulele on the last lesson of basic ukulele class, partly cos it was really difficult for my fatty fingers to press on those tiny strings and thanks to my poor coordination, it makes playing ukulele such a tedious task! It seems like singing (off tune at times) is much easier than playing an instrument. I thought the string got snapped off during the tuning on my last lesson and it was just recently that I realized it’s not snapped off. HAHA. Okay sorry LeLe, it’s my fault. Perhaps I should really try harder to learn ukulele again. It’s supposed to be the easiest instrument to play! Okay, I’ll try.

Resolution 2014 #3: Get my fingers on LeLe again. Learn a few chords that I'll be able to 自弹自唱。Super difficult and hard to achieve, we'll see how, it might become resolution for 2015. HAHA.

5) Stay Healthy and Fit [Yes and No]

Met my targeted 58kg so kinda shed some Europe fats BUT after the Christmas festive my weigh started to gain again. HAHA. Looked through my Record/Report Books that I weighed 53 kg (163 cm) when I was 12 years old and 56 kg (170 cm) when I was 18 years old. And now, standing at 171 cm, I’m weighing 58.5 kg. I think I gain around 3 Kg after every 6 years huh! I need to get back to my healthier lifestyle of hitting the gym which I stopped months ago due to all my nuahness and dates.

Resolution 2014 #4: Exercise more, eat lesser or more like eat healthier (e.g. lesser maggie? lesser chips? THIS IS DIFFICULT.Arghh). Aim for 57kg? HAHA.

6) Travel [Yes and No]

Didn't do much travelling in 2013 such as graduation trip or overseas voluntary trip. But I’ll glad that just one year ago, I travelled with my BFFs to Bangkok Thailand from 5th Jan to 8th Jan 2013. It was a short and sweet get-away trip and I can’t wait for more foursome travelling next time! Was kinda excited when my sister suggested going Hong Kong in December 2013 which got cancelled off but never mind. I’ll visit Hong Kong one fine day. Well, I don’t have plan for travel for this year, but who will mind to go on holiday right?! I’ll see how my schedule will be like for this year and hopefully get to travel to somewhere?

Resolution 2014 #5: Go on holiday to a place. Maybe, if I feel like.

7) Better skin complex [Yes and No]
Skin got slightly better this year compared to 2013. Hopefully in 2014 it will be better :D

8) 等久久的人
(:

9) Remain happy and be happy
I’m overall a happy girl in 2013, with all those stuff happened in 2013. Tried new things such as going for musical concerts, having lots of me-time and family time, having some lucks of winning lucky draw to concerts or movie tickets or random gifts and changing statuses (e.g. from being a student to working adult, meeting someone special etc). I hope I'll continue to be blessed with lots of love and happy stuff this year and of course bad things can happen to make make a better and stronger person but hopefully those bad things will be stuff that are manage-able.

Resolution 2014 #6: Be a better individual for different roles in life. For example, I haven't been a good sister/daughter at times with all the talk-back or being headstrong. Sometimes I hope I can learn how to be a good one but it's just.. not that easy. So yeap, learning to be good in different roles, especially those new roles that I've gained.

Resolution 2014 #7: Getting a job means saving should start soon. HAHA, time to fix my saving account. HMM.

Resolution 2014 #8: Continue my reading momentum. It's not easy to get back on reading momentum. I'm glad that I've read a couple of books by Mitch Albom and Agatha Christine during my long break between school and work. So hopefully I'll continue this good habit of reading. HAHA.

That's all for now, it's long enough. Wordy post that serves as reminder for myself. HAHA. Thanks if you read through.

2013 is a past tense, all the good and bad stays. May we learn from the bad ones, and the good ones continue in 2014. As lunar 2014 gonna be 犯太岁for me and most of my friends, let's hope we'll survive through this not-too-good or not-too-bad year ahead! :D

And to people who are close to my heart, thanks for staying in my life and playing a part in my life. I hope I did in yours too.

Lots of Love,
bean

Review 2011

Hello Humans.

It's time to do some review.

2011 has been a... well, I'm not sure, a pretty decent year for me.

Not a single lucky draw winner but I'm fine with that though I don't mind to win anything (: (I just sent a couple of lucky draw for Her World, HAHA)

Academically, I think I've done pretty well since expectations are met. GPA of 4.1, what else could I ask for? Perhaps I'm getting greedy but I just thought maybe I should try to have a nice full stop to my academic pave in 1.5 years time and hence that explain my goal of GPA of 4.5. I'm heading towards it and hence I pray that 2012 will be a good year for me in academic term.

It was pretty much distracted semester, on top of those necessary work for exchange, indeed, many things in life are 徒劳无功的.

I was given a few overseas opportunities like GIP Work and Study in China and GIP Study in USA (and was offered a place for International Housing-it would be a great place to meet people...), but still I always ended up in Singapore. I super love Singapore and NTU, that's why huh. I would say nothing would really be finalized till it really happens cos life is so unpredictable. Please stop asking me why cos thing happens for a reason. So I thank you for your sincere concern. It can get quite tiring to repeat the same old thing during meet up but I'm glad that as time pass, such question are forgotten (: So, I'm still on my way in trying to make overseas exchange a reality. I will be going for an exchange next year, I swear. Okay, I shouldn't have use the word "swear", it's too harsh. But I promised myself I will sort of try my best for exchange, if not somehow I'll get to travel. So cross my fingers for GSS application which I've yet to look at and GIP which I may have to apply if I failed to get myself a spot in GSS. If I'm really so fated not to go there to study or work, I'll go there to tour as a tourist!

Oh ya, I've sort of decided to do Final Year Project! Wish me good luck for mid 2012 to mid 2013. (:

In 2011, I've officially become an adult- I'm twenty-one year old. Actually this doesn't make much difference to my life yet, so... I'm still a happy girl well-fed by my parents,HAHHAHAH(:

I've learnt that health and happiness shouldn't be taken for granted. I'm blessed to have love from my family and friends. So I wish for good health, happiness and peace in the family, and to my friends.

I'm glad that I'm keeping in touch with my primary school BFFs, let's meet up soon, maybe during CNY! Please stay in contact okay, I feel so secured and happy with you girls, miss the good old days!

So basically as a student without much other commitment from relationship or what-so-ever, I think academic will be the top priority at this stage of my life. My special friend in life is still unknown in the sea of human beings despite that people who 肖 horse and horoscope cancer will have more 桃花 this year. I've no idea if this creature appears but he will appear when 天时地利人和. HAHA. (right zy?:P)

Oh ya, I joined the competition and ended up we didn't get into the finals! I think I mentioned it before. A few months back, someone mentioned it again and said there was an opportunity for making it a reality. I decided NOT to join since I was lacking of commitment. Well, I hope I didn't make the wrong choice though  life is not all about studies.

Thanks for all the good and bad, in making me a more complete and mature being, though I think there's still lots of room of improvement for maturity, haha. But somehow, I think I grew a bit (: May I get prettier, slimmer, smarter, healthier and bolder as I grow huh! Oh , and please let me have a sense of (or discover) what I wanna do in the future.

Cheers,
Bin Bin.

Reflection

Hello Humans.

I was thinking half the year 2011 have gone. It's time to do some reviewing and to look through the reviews that I hoped to achieve in year 2011.

Yup, cleared a few, some still in the process, and some are still working towards it.

Joined EN121 friends in the Startup@Singapore competition. It's good enough that we managed to get into semi-final. That's pretty good enough I think. At least we tried, and we managed to get something in return (:

Yes better GPA is obtained this semester. The process of getting better GPA will only end when I'm officially graduated. I'm aiming for a GPA of 4.24 to get a cGPA of 3.78. I believe that starting with a low GPA doesn't mean I'll get stuck of a low GPA forever. We have to work for what we want. I hope this mentality will stay with me till my University life ends man.

Was kind of disappointed the other time when we couldn't apply for INSTEP and it disturb me for quite some time. This time round I'm glad to say that I have a chance to apply. Shall do some research soon, one fine day when I feel free-er. Not only would I apply for INSTEP, I'll apply for GIP too (: I'm such a dependent person so I must go with someone whom I can trust and rely on. Yes yes you :D [I supposed you're a reader of my blog,PM!]

As for slimming, I think it will take forever. HAHA, so that shall be skipped.

Health have been so far so good. Think I didn't get sick so far, it's a good sign. Or should I say normal since I rarely fall sick? Choy touch wood, we shouldn't take good health for granted. Yes good health forever! :D

Loves,
Bean.

P.S.: Updates on Birthday and Sentosa + Out with adele Soon (:

Reflection time!

Hello Humans.

It's 2011. I wonder is it because that we're getting older and that's why we feel that every year is passing faster and faster. I'm turning 21st this year, in around 6 months time. That would means a step towards the "official" adulthood. It's so contradicting that when I was young, I hope to grow older faster. And now, I wish I'm still the small kid. Well, I believe not just me who feels that.

Arghh. Okay let's be realistic, people do grow older and accept the fact please. But somehow I think I don't really behave like one. I'm still the immature, indecisive, dependent, introvert, anti-social, sometimes a spoilt brat little Missy who don't know how to cook, wash etc. Life is so complacent here, my parents will just take care of the things. A lizard, a xiao qiao, or whatever shit, we just scream for our mama and she'll be there to kill all these monsters for us. I don't have to worry for many things, be it financial terms or whatever. Well, I'm not that rich but certainly quite well off as compared to many others (though it's hard to be 知足!). I thought of trying something different, probably different in some sense from the current ones. Yet, it's difficult to get out of comfort zone, isn't it?

So yay, growing up bit by bit I wish. Be more mature, understanding, decisive and more independent. It's hard for me not to be anti-social. I mean, I can be a real extrovert sometimes, but most of the time I'm an introvert. The companion makes the difference!

As a student, I wish that 2011 will be a year where I get back to the student who likes to study, to expect more besides just getting a B-, someone who stop avoiding tutorial. It's hard for all these to come true, and in fact I really still hate tutorial, so i shall ignore what I just typed earlier on. HAHA. Okay, a good student who do her part in studies and maybe get better GPA.

Actually I'm thinking whether or not to apply for INSTEP, which is to study overseas for a semester! I'm thinking that it's a rare good experience as a student to explore (though I'm not adventurous). My first thought is Taiwan! Well, so that I wouldn't have so much culture shock and they speak Mandarin! Yes, language is one my major concern. I know my spoken English sucks and that's why I'm trying to avoid those angmor countries and choose Asian countries. Moreover, it's cheaper! It's around S$5k-S$6k excluding all those shopping der! I guess as a tourist/exchange student I'll definitely play a part to boost the country's economy! HAHA. BUT the issue is that I've no one to accompany me to go Taiwan! Yes yes, I was just saying that I hope I can be more independent and it would be a great chance for me to do so. But it's overseas study for around 4 months! I seriously need some trustworthy friends to accompany! Not only for safety reason but the company definitely plays a great role in making the trip enjoyable and memorable!

So, another option would be France! Since Adele was hoping to go there, the issue of getting a companion solved. The school consists of 40% international students so it can't be too bad. Bad English isn't too much an issue too cos French is highly valued by the people over there. So the main issue would be not knowing or understanding French! Europe is such a beautiful place and it's definitely a great place to visit! But of course, the cost would be much higher! It's gauged around S$10K-S$12K! And I'm expecting the figure to be much higher cos even though we can save by eating cup noodles etc, we'll spend a huge sum on travelling!

Anyway, I got to admit that I did not do much research. My research sucks. HAHA. I seriously need to start doing some research X:

And yes, decided to join in my EN121 friends in the entrepreneur-thingy competition! I hope it will turn out to be fine and okay! Our previous team consists of 6 people, but now left the 4 of us. Yes I'm the only girl left but that shouldn't be something to be too worry on. We have not started anything but I guess we'll be meeting up soon to start working on the report for the first round of the competition. I hope it wouldn't stress me out cos it seems to involve high commitment and there will be some networking sessions (if I'm not wrong. and if yes I'm gonna be so sianx about it). Well, what makes me go for it? I'm not sure. Maybe it's the rare good experience (HAHA, I just used these words on INSTEPS too) and since I've nothing to add on my University life (I've no CCA) so why not do something to make it better? So hopefully it turns out good and not the other way round.

Most importantly is good health for everyone (my family, friends (you you you you you and you you you) and of course yours truly der!), being happy and contend! :D May I wish that all trips will be safe and enjoyable with laughter and fun. May I wish that those who are studying get better grades. May I wish that those who are working earn more money and more business please. May I wish that whatever we do will all go smoothly.

And yes, I got to slim down. My fats is growing and growing. How I wish the fats can be donated, or burst when my friends poke me. HAHA. Arghh. Since I got Amore 1 month free membership so why am I still nuahing at home and waste the membership right? LAZY PIG. That's why this stupid thing is forever on my list.

YES YES YES, I'M GREEDY. I got to admit the fact. HAHA

Okay, basically that's all.

It's great to be ah zhai! Staying at home, sleeping at 1am plus and waking up at 12pm plus!

LOVES,
bean.

Reflection on 2010

Hello Humans!

FIRST POST IN YEAR 2011~

Time to do some reviewing for year 2010! (It's never too late to review! LOL.)

How’s year 2010 for you

Well, I would say it is a pretty good and great year for me!

WHY?!

Firstly, I’ve been quite a lucky girl in 2010! I’ve won quite a few stuffs :D Yes I love lucky draws etc!!
1. An oven from a lucky draw in Cozycot event!
2. 1 of the lucky winner to attend Meet & Greet session with Wonder Girls!
3. $50 Capitaland vouchers by contesting in Lifebuoy’s “Singapore Let’s Get Healthier” Lucky Draw [Well, I forgot what I wrote!]

4. A $100 SpringField voucher by voting for my senior in Maybelline Power in You Contest!

5. Successful entry for “SMRT COMMUTERS TO STAR IN ITS 2011 DESKTOP CALENDAR” thingy, where I get to feature on their 2011 calendar with pop-art effects! And yes, and a poster-sized photo! :D No money reward but is good enough!
6. 1 month free membership for Amore Fitness! Drawn in Cozycot 9th Birthday bash! :D
P.S.: I hope I didn’t miss out anything!HAHA

I do consider myself very lucky besides winning all these, like I’m still alive on this Earth with people whom I love and people who love me! :D (You love me, don’t you? HAHA) Natural disasters, accidents, people being too emotional etc, life's so fragile.

Not much travelling in this year (as compared to last year, but I’m expecting morenext this year!) but nonetheless it’s a good year with some great experiences. For example, the very first Youth Olympic Games 2010 in Singapore! Well, it didn’t create a big coverage but as an individual I do gain quite a lot! Not only am I managed to know what the earth is Handball and watching chio Denmark girls and cute Korean guys when they were training for their competition, I also get to visit Universal Studio Singapore! Yes, it’s cool that I didn’t do much during the period of YOG (since I spent most of my time watching trainings and the rest of the time with Coca Cola), yet I still get to enjoy all the benefits. HAHA.
And ya, another good experience would be SMRT shoot. The shoot is just a short 1.5hours session but the experience is… pretty good! AND AND AND, to attend the meet and greet session with Wonder Girls! First time being so close to international celebrities! Well, we do consider them as international stars right? HAHA.

As for studies, it’s great that I find both the semesters pass pretty fast! :D Well, I think I will definitely still complain regarding to academics! If I don’t, something must be wrong. However, I guess my complaints getting lesser? Well, I hope that’s the case cos I don’t hate, I mean dislike, no no no, I mean I’m not so interested my major that much. HAHA. But I guess it is because I didn’t take that much sociology modules this year. My complaints would probably back soon cos I’ll be taking more sociology modules this coming semester! Anyway there’s some improvement for my reading- from 78 uncompleted readings in semester 1 to less than 10 uncompleted readings in semester 2! (: But I got to admit that the number of sociology modules was halved, that’s why the difference is that great! HAHA.

As for friends, I made a few friends! Like Adele, WanXuan (the 2 girls on my left and right!) and maybe some project mates(cyber,Hw111,en121) which I think are just hi-bye friends! I've known Adele and Wan Xuan better in sem 2! :D :D HMM, I guess 2010 was pretty much a gathering year too. Like with my laopos! :D

My dearest BFFs! :D

yes my dearest BFFs :D

Wenfang whom we known from China Trip! Companion really makes a great difference! OMG i miss those days!

And my primary school besties Eileen and YiXin! :D

Talking about primary school friends remind me of a psycho quiz fr YiXin as follows:
short-form used- Y:YiXin, me (B) and Eileen (E)
Y: think of an animal u're see in a park or forest (which I can't rmb) (B-monkey, E-dog)
Y: think of another animal (B-Lion, E-bird)
Y: you saw a house, is the door- open big big, half open or closed? (B&E-half open)
Y: you enter the house and you saw a table, what's the shape of it? (B-round, E-i forgot her answer! rectangle?)
Y: You saw a vase on the table. What material is it made of? (B-clay. E- Glass)
Y: There are flowers in the vase. How many are there? (B-3, E- a lot a lot!HAHA)
Y: You left the house and have to leave but there's a river in front. What would you do? (B- go back to the route where I came from. E- don't care just cross the river)

well, I don't know if I've missed out any questions. This quiz looks familiar anyway. HAH. Then YiXin continued to explain. The first answer (monkey) is to refer to ourself! Well, so I'm a monkey (and yixin say it's accurate cos i act like one, lol). The second one was our partner (lion). HAHA, monkey's partner is a LION! and again yixin say yes yes it's right cos I need a man who is da nan ren-minded to control me! LOL. Okay, i shall skip some cos i forgot. The number of flowers in the vase refers to the number of relationship that we'll have! It's damn funny cos Eileen say A LOT A LOT! HAHA! Okay, I'm seriously off-tracked X:

Okay, so actually I can't really live without my friends, though my circle of friends is forever so small but I love you people to bits! :D

Oh ya, I got a new HP- nokia E72. It's not a new news since that was 6months ago. It’s a smart phone since it can surf the net (definition of smart phone?), 5MP camera (though the camera sound can’t be switched off and the flash can’t stop blinking), with a colour that I think is pretty chio (violet!)! BUT BUT BUT, sometimes it lags. I wonder if I’m typing too fast or it’s simply slow. I think it’s the latter. And, it hang for a few times. HMMM.

So yay, 2010 is a pretty great, decent year for me. I’m expecting a better year ahead. I mean, I’m hoping for a better year ahead.

Thank You for everything in 2010, may 2011 be an even year for you and me! (:

LOVES,
bean. (:
