Welcome to Singapore Zoo

Hello Humans,

This is a long overdue entry on our family visit to the Singapore Zoo! This post is mainly with photos that summarizes our trip. Teehee, I'm getting lazy.

Otter which is super cute and a great swimmer!

We kept hearing lot noise/sound and finally discovered it was them who made all the noise. Okay noise sounds a bit bad but they were communicating or singing! HAHA, so cute right? They also made noise to alert each other and seen as choir in rainforest!

Polar bear that slept throughout our visit in Zoo. Why you no wake up?!

Cute right?!

Elephant show! Initially I was thinking hmm, this show like not really nice compared to those we watched in Thailand. But come to thinking about it again, it actually very bad to train animals doing things that they don't usually do, and what's more doing to entertain people coming to see them, and doing it to get so-called rewards (food). HMM.

Some kind soul helped us to take a group photo of the day! :) We reached this place 30 minutes before the show so that we can have a good seats, eat our lunch that we da-baoed and just nice for the show! Again, it's not very nice :X

如果我是一只火鸟~~

The one and only real kangaroo we saw, hopping secretly behind us. LOL.

And we were coincidentally wearing 姐妹装

They were waiting for their meal time. And it poured right before their feeding time):

HAHA, they were watermelon when they are new-born, but they grow up wearing "diapers". OOPPP

Thanks sis's bf for taking care of our popo that day! HAHA.

Lazing around after the pour.

Hee. love this photo!

Ending off with Sun Bear!

The last time I went to zoo before this trip was with my laopos, where bay got tickets to zoo for free cos of blood donation! The girls gave me a little surprise at CCK with a huge card and a cake before we headed off to zoo. My memory of the animals was not really good cos all of them looks kinda sian and lonely. Somehow, I don't really feel so this time round. So when was your last time visiting zoo?

Love,
Bean.

VROOOOM~ F1 with XQ

Hello Humans,

(I always looks like a giant besides her!)

Vroom Vroom!!~ ~~~
Okay I know my post is kinda late, F1 heat is probably gone. But hey it’s still in my mind okay.
First I gonna thank my laopo for remembering me! HEE. Got to go to F1 for the first time thanks to her and SC (her bf) :D It was quite exciting even though I’m not F1 fans BUT knowing that I’ll be involved as a viewer/audience is definitely something that made me to look forward to it.
Meet up for dinner at Parco at Millennia Walk. It took us quite a while to locate the restaurant but fortunately we did in the end. It was a quiet place and we ordered tom yam bee hoon and yam bee hoon to share cos the two of us were sort of thinking between the two dishes! How cute we were to arrange dinner there cos we thought it would be somewhere near our F1 seats but unfortunately we had to take train and walk quite a distance before we reach the place.
Us finally here!

The noise was really loud and we could barely hear each other. XQ was thinking of getting ear-plug and I told her perhaps ear-piece will do. HEE I’M SO CUTE RIGHT?! Heng that XQ reminded me of that and I got mine free from Qatar Airline last year when we fly with them! They have a small pouch that consists of socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, earplug and what’s not. The socks damn comfortable and lasted me through my nights in Troyes (France). Back to topic, so we got earplugs and took some photos before reaching our seats.

We bought snacks from Parco which really helped us through the night. I mean it’s better to snack on something and watch the race right? :P And add on a bit of chitchat sessions that’s interrupted by the vroooom noise.

So this is our view! I actually zoomed in a lot. We were sitting right at the back, second last row I think. But our seats are actually not bad cos it's at a turn so cars gonna slow down at the turn and we can see the cars more clearly than for them to speed pass! Read from newspaper just a day before the day I headed down to F1 that their usual speed for straight road can goes up to 400km/hr and they have to quickly slow down below 100km/hr at turns. How amazing huh?! It's like super ultra fast, like so damn dangerous!

So anyway, as we talk and didn't pay much attention to the race, we could still get hold of what's major things happening cos people would stand when something happened. For instance a car crashed at the turn and everyone got up and two of us just got up too. HAHA. Poor car.

We left before the race ended to get on time for the concert! Here's us with pretty background!

Result was released when we were stationed at Padang. Check out the pretty fireworks that lasted for quite awhile!

And not forgetting the air and noise pollution caused by the fireworks.

We were surrounded by foreigners, either from Europe or USA and THEY. ARE. FREAKING. TALL... It felt so suffocating and I kind of disliked being surrounded by all tall human creature, WHERE IS MY FRESH AIR?! HAHA. Even though we were standing at maybe quite central, we could hardly see the stage and Rihanna cos these tall humans blocked our view.

Rihanna can really sing, even though most of songs that she sang were unknown to me. X: I thought I'm the only one but I'm not! Cos it was after don't know how many songs then someone at the back said "finally something we know!" HAHA. And... they were really high. They sang along and danced, really danceeeeee.

We left the crowd and joined SC outside Padang cos he was unable to get in and even if he could get in, it seems almost impossible to find us. So we stayed around till 12plus and left when the concert ends. I got slightly panicky by the large crowd getting home and since I've never been a late owl, I was quite worry about getting on the train. But phew, I managed to take the Green line and transferred to Red line without trouble! Heng I didn't take the Red line cos it's gonna take forever!

Thank you XQ and SC once again for the F1 pass!

Lots of Love,
Bean

Canton Paradise with Neighbour

Hello Humans,

Meet up with Jeremy last week for lunch at Canton Paradise at JCube, somewhere which is nearer to our place. Anyway it’s more like tea-time since it’s kinda late lunch and it’s tea-time promotion. So we sort of loitered around the mall while waiting for the time to strike 2.30pm.  This friend of mine seems to love JCube a lot and he introduced me a lot of eateries. But I was keen to try Canton Paradise since I've not try it before.

We got seated slightly before 2.30pm and starred at the menu, counting down to the promo time. He sort of highly recommended this handmade meat ball porridge cos it’s nice and he’s been here for 4 times ordering the same thing! Oh well, not many choices for the promo porridge since I don’t eat century egg and squid so I’m left with 2 options. Encouraged him to order something new and so he ordered chicken and mushroom porridge. We were kinda disappointed when we were told that they have no more milk tea. He doesn't really want to accept the fact and asked if it will be like out of stock of the whole day -.- I was like “Hello are you gonna stay here the whole day?!” HAHA. In the end I ordered Warm Barley and he ordered a weird drink- watercress honey drink. Hmm, a pity that I was having flu and I don’t wanna be evil to spread around so I didn't try it but I really wonder how it tastes like! It looks weird, at least to me, or us. HAHA.

I was kinda surprised when the porridge was served cos it’s quite a big bowl! I was anticipating a small rice bowl okay. HAHA. Never mind at least that’s a pleasant surprise (: You know, usually I don’t order porridge cos it’s too hot to consume. It makes eating slightly difficult. But hey, this is pretty nice and the portion is huge! How should I say the texture? It’s those kind, so it can be very filling. The 4 meatballs that comes with it were quite smooth and bouncy and the fried you tiao is nice though the portion is quite stingy!

Then here comes our dimsum- 小笼包, 烧卖, fried radish cake and the other one which I can’t remember and don’t remember its name. To me they taste normal, so I don’t have much comment. But the fried radish cake supposed to have 腊味which I seriously couldn't detect any taste of it but my eyes sort of saw some tiny bits. Thought of trying other dimsum but luckily we didn't cos the meal is already quite filling.

For a $10 meal, with a quiet and pretty comfy ambiance, I think it’s quite worth it for a visit or visits! Oh ya, we were allocated to sofa seats, those “live in your own world” kind which is good place for catch up! I’m thinking of bringing my family there one fine there and perhaps try out some of their dimsum/food cos I saw some photos on instagram and the food like OMG. This includes  流沙包 with its filling oozing out! Meet up was kind of short and our conversation was everywhere and random? And how can a student, who still has 1.5 semester to graduate to secure a job when someone else is unemployed?! Spoil market!
Okay, pretty much of it. See you again neighbor. HAHA.

On a side note, I went libraries at Woodlands and JE. To my surprise there’s a huge collection of Agatha Christine’s book in Woodlands library! And since I couldn't find other books written by Mitch Albom, I borrowed some books by Agatha Christine’s instead. It somehow reminded me of an old friend of mine, who we didn't contact for super long. She's kind of MIA. Hope she's doing fine now (:

Loves,
Bean
